Black Crater

On August 16, a beautiful clear summer day, John Sweat had four hearty souls join him on the steady climb up to Black Crater.  Once at the summit everyone enjoyed the views of all the various peaks and buttes, along with good conversations and a lite snack. We had the trail pretty much to ourselves in both directions.  The group returned to Sisters by 1:30 pm with smiles and a feeling of accomplishment. Over all a good outing.

The butterflies…. While at the summit snacking and chatting, it was brought to John’s attention that the butterflies were attacking  his backpack.  It must have been the color or maybe the scent of the banana peel inside, in any event it was a pleasant surprise and worthy of a photo.
