Six hikers did a short hike to Bull Flats on Sunday, May 19, to look at the area and dam construction talked about in the Dam Fiasco presentation (see Dam Fiasco). They hiked around the area that would have been the reservoir, checked out the earthen dam, then hiked the trail below the dam. The canyon below the dam was very interesting as the steep walls were filled with caves, bird’s nests, and great rock formations. Jerry Sebestyen commented that “it was a short hike and fortunately we beat the serious rainstorm.” He also mentioned that he thought a longer hike along the trail is warranted in the future.
