While most went further afield on Sunday, July 7, a few CONC members had other commitments and needed to stay close to town. Two hiked the Deschutes River loop trail from Parks and Rec offices upstream to the pedestrian bridge. Lots of other happy hikers and dogs were out and the temperatures were perfect. A lone leader headed out to the Swede shelter in Swampy Lakes to catch the magnificent view of Broken Top. Although the flowers are waning in this area, a few creatures were out and about for the camera lens.
