Coffin Mountain was spectacular Sunday, June 30. Twenty people made the tricky drive to the trailhead for a short, 3.5 mile hike. There were so many photos to be taken that the hike itself was at a very relaxed pace; just as planned. Even the last few miles driving to the hike were worthy of stopping and taking pictures of the masses of rhododendrons and beargrass. Three of the group added on a hike to Bachelor Mountain, a near-neighbor to Coffin Mountain in the Willamette National Forest.
