CONC Members Hike At Riley Ranch

Nobody can accuse Central Oregon Nordic Club members of using the weather as an excuse to sit on the couch all day.

With no recent fresh powder, there was some uncertainty about how good snow conditions would be on Sunday, Jan. 13. So, seven club members went hiking instead to Riley Ranch.

“It was clear and cold, with a bit of fog coming in between us and the mountains,” says group leader Shari Hogshead. “We had intermittent views of the snow-covered Cascades.”

Added hiker Dawn Sykora: “It was fun to have a safe place to go when everything else is covered with ice.”
