Cone Peak Bliss

Sixteen CONC members hiked to Cone Peak off Highway 20 just past the Highway 22 junction on Sunday, June 23.  The hike was described as “Stunning” and “Blissful” and the flowers to be “beyond description.”  I received 37 excellent photos from this hike; many of the incredible flowers.  The temperatures were cool and comfortable with a slight breeze, so it is anticipated the flowers will be good for another week or so.  Lunch was taken on a ridge just beyond the Cone Peak meadows.  Most hikers then returned to Tombstone Pass, but three continued on to the Iron Mountain lookout and exited to the lower parking area.
