Cougar Creek Trail

A dozen CONC hikers headed out to  the Ochocos to walk along the Cougar Creek Trail.  The group met at Bandit Springs on Hwy 26 to organize a cross-over walk on this historic eight mile  trail.  The trail winds it’s way thru burned over areas, woods, grassy glades and open rocky slopes with each area having it’s own special display of flowers  Views are mostly north, as opposed to the west views enjoyed last week on Lookout Mountain.  No cougars were spotted but we did see a flock of wild turkeys with many chicks in tow.  No other hikers were seen, but the trail is in great shape due to the hard work of mountain bikers.  Trail information can be found on this site
