The snow has barely begun to fly, and we have seen some confusion with a new snowshoe trail on Dutchman. The issue is that the old ski trail went straight, which is now the snowshoe trail. The rerouted ski trail is very logical, as it takes skiers more directly to the Dutchman Loop, where one can decide to head west towards Todd Lake, Big Meadow, Watertower, etc, or east for a CCW loop around Dutchman or the Flagline access or off-trail to Tumalo Mountain. So be aware that all ski routes go left at the big pole holding the sign, and snowshoers go straight!
