Exploring the old Crater Ditch trail

Twelve hikers enjoyed another awesome CONC adventure on Sunday, September 15th, exploring a bit of the wilderness area off of the Todd Lake trail. Linda Frost, assisted by Eileen Woodward, found an old trail (i.e. less traveled!) up to the Crater Ditch trailhead. Despite ominous forecasts, the weather gawds smiled down on the group, and rain held off for the entire hike.

The terrain featured a bumper crop of early season mushrooms, including the cute but poisonous Amanita Muscaria mushrooms, which were visually enjoyed.
