Susan Sullivan had the idea to hike to Green Lake Sunday, November 17 as a “last chance” before the road closure the following Thursday. Overcast skies turned into breaks of sunshine by the time the group got to the lake. There were a couple of brief showers on the way, but those showers yielded a spectacular rainbow as a reward. “And besides,” she said, “the mountains always look more mysterious in cloudy weather.” The small amount of snow and ice they encountered was easily handled with their hiking poles They all agreed that this was a great choice for the day.
