This time of year, the red-paved road up to Lava Butte is closed to cars, making it perfect for hiking. So Linda Frost and ten other hikers did just that on Sunday, November 4. The fairly short hike of about 4 miles leads to the old lookout and spectacular views across the lava fields. And on this clear, crisp day, it was a great choice for a hike!
