The annual club trip to Mazama was a huge success. Thanks to Debbie Frankenberger for submitting this report and the photos.
Twenty-one CONC members traveled to Mazama, Washington the week of January 22 – 27, to ski the Methow trails.
Groups skied to Cow Beach shelter, the Suspension Bridge, and Brown’s Farm on the Mazama trail system. Eric Ness, current CONC president, led a group of skate skiers from Mazama to Winthrop, 30 kilometers.
Several members of the group ventured out to the Rendezvous trails and skied the Gunn Ranch trail to the Grizzly hut. The Rendezvous Trail system, for the most part, is dog friendly. There are five Rendezvous huts (sleep up to ten people) and can be reserved for a semi-backcountry experience.
Eric Ness also led a group of skiers and skate skiers to the Sun Mountain Lodge for hot drinks and appetizers. Eric demonstrated telemarking turns on skate skis.
See you out on the trails.
