The Metolius River trail was cloudy and smokey at the start on Sunday, October 13, but the predicted rain never happened and it cleared up. The six mile trail turned out to be uncrowded and sunny, with a “private CONC” picnic table in the sun for lunch. The hike seemed shorter than the six miles, probably because there was always something beautiful to look at. The Metolius is magical along the south path to the Canyon Creek intersection.
