Metolius River Hike

Four CONC members hiked along the Metolius River Sunday, July 21.  The four started at the fish hatchery and hiked downstream on the east loop about three miles to the Lower Bridge, then walked up the west leg for a total of six miles.  The day was pleasant temperatures, no bugs(!), and great companionship.  The Metolius is special in that its source comes right out of the ground and along the upper part you see springs feeding the river.  It is also one of the few places where cedar trees and ponderosa pine grow together.
