Mid-week Lookout Mountain

In the middle of May, I flew over the Ochoco Mountains and noted one prominent, snow-covered ridge standing out against the forest of green, but did not know this was Lookout Mountain. Eight CONC members hiked up to Lookout Mountain on Thursday, June 13, and reported that very little of the snow remained. In fact they were more concerned that it might be a bit hot for the hike. However, they were rewarded with pleasant temperatures and lots of wildflowers, including yellow fritillary and wild peony. From the photos, I’d say they were also rewarded with fun fellowship!
