CONC got a request to have some earlier hikes. So John Fertig led a hike leaving Safeway at 0730 on Sunday, August 25 for Bridge Creek and the North Fork trails from Tumalo Falls. It ended up being a group of one. It was a bit cool at this hour for the hike up the North Fork but free of people. Many waterfalls, a few wildflowers at Happy Valley, 12 species of conifers were noted, including a very nice Western White Pine. The only wildlife were a few mosquitos at Happy Valley and a bald-faced hornet nest. A very enjoyable hike with no complaints from any of the participants!
