Gary Elnan joined Chris Sabo and Joe Welke (FS) in supplying future firewood to the AC/DC shelter on Thursday, March 18. Chris and Joe provided the expert labor to fell some dead trees and drag them to the AC/DC hut using snowmobiles (with Chris’s experienced gear/process/guidance). Gary was the “gofer”, helping to position the logs, scatter slash, and clean up the limbing on the logs. Enough logs to provide at least 2 years firewood were cut, hauled, and stacked. They suggested only bucking, splitting, and stacking enough for 1 season to help conserve the wood and minimize future hauling. Looks like there will be a CONC bucking and stacking party in the fall!
