Wind, dropping temperatures and moisture clouds were the challenges for seven hikers to do what they planned. After the long drive to Pine Mountain, we all said, “Let’s do it!” Our luck was a great hike with only a bit of snow and no frost bite. The assistant operations manager from the University of Oregon was on site. He gave us a nice talk about how the U of O is trying to continue operations without the usual visitors and dollar contributions. He welcomes all to come on up.
