John Sweat led a group out February 26 and this is his report.
Our trip was far from being a Picture Post Card/Bluebird Day, in fact it was quite the opposite. It was a blizzard out there! And this certainly didn’t deter the four hardy soles whom which decided to go for it. After we broke trail for 1.75 miles the shelter was a welcome site. Pat Jones and Rich Fox quickly went to work getting a fire started in the stove and created a cozy atmosphere. We were a bit disappointed for not having any sort of view of the Cascades but, the warmth of the fire and good company made up for it.
When we got back to our cars we all met for beer and pizza at The Barn and patted each other on the back for job well done. I would like to thank again, Pat, Jen, Rich and Craig for coming. It was a good day!
