Eight CONC skiers left Safeway on Sunday February 16 headed towards Big Meadow. The snowfall the night before promised to blanket the hard crust of the past week, so Century Drive traffic was inconsequential. Enroute to the Big Meadow we skied on already broken trails through heavy but soft snow, anticipating the return glide. Just past the Big Meadow but before descending to Todd Lake, Jerry directed us north along the ridge through pristine “fresh”. We stopped at The Big View for lunch, gawking at Broken Top framed against deep blue sky. Afterwards, Jerry led us down through Jerry’s Alley, back across Forest Road 370 through the trees and down to Big Meadow. The glide back to the Nordic Center was simply delightful!
