Sue led a total of 8 skiers on an enjoyable off-trail route to Todd Lake on Sunday, January 26. As she chose her way through the trees, an owl flew (twice!) to a perch just in front of us allowing the entire group to appreciate it. The 3 inches of snow on a fairly firm crust was a bit heavy, but good enough for several of the group to telemark down a hill at lunchtime. One show-off (couldn’t be me?!) fell and broke a pole, necessitating a conservative route on the return to the Bachelor parking lot! Yet it was a fun ski and gave us all hope that there will be more snow and fun to come.
