Whychus Canyon Hike

While gathering at the meetup area you could just feel it was going to a perfect day…not a cloud in the sky, and the temperature actually felt like Spring. I had five eager hikers ready to hit the trail. Once at the trailhead, you could hear the water. The trail parallels the creek three-quarters of the route, which added to the serenity. We had to stop a few times along the way to admire the polished scallops of basalt carved out by the water. On the return trip after lunch, we decided to take a side trip up to the overlook and get our full money’s worth of the clear skies and cherish the view of the Cascades.

I would like to thank Dinah Russell, Joan Lapham, Wendi Green, Kate Gordon and Nancy Pustis for joining me on a pleasant outing.
